Trump'ed' Up or Out?

Thinking, clear thinking,.. Is it making a comeback?  Indeed it would seem that this new technological generation which has given way to 'alternative media' is effectively silencing the status quo with regards to global perspectives.  Who's right or wrong, or still which bio-ethical hot button topic of the day will become interwoven inside an editorial narrative put forth by ideologically engineered funding that suits their goal.  The 'right' and the 'left' has become so polarizing that any person channel surfing from FOX to CNN could find themselves battling schizophrenia.

Where do I stand?  I consider myself 'right of center' on socio economic issues, and perhaps the best definition is that I'm 'A classical english liberal.' (to paraphrase Dr Jordan Peterson.) I tend to 'think' with the mind of the Church, while keeping an open perspective to the plights of those not quite in agreement.  I try to see it from their angle, before offering a debate.  The classic example of people advocating homosexual unions inside the Church based upon a false sense of 'mercy' comes to mind.  The Theological argument shows Jesus as open to all, however there is a forgetting of His command to go and 'sin no more.'  (John 8;11)  From the secular perspective, the argument of what happens between two consenting adults falls short, when using their logic, incest between consenting adults would have to be accepted as well!  Otherwise we could invent a new term, calling them 'incestophobic!' (credit to Mark Dice for that one.)

As a Canadian, I eagerly watched the American elections, and I will admit despite being 'right of center' politically, once Trump won the Republican nomination, I was scared.  Despite being 'pro life,' I worried about the media perception of a madman with his button on the nukes.  Nonetheless, once he won, I found it curious that the media CNN, NBC and ABC were almost in overdrive trying to dump him.  Celebrities, (Meryl Streep) issuing pleas to 'stop the hate,' (All the while she applauded Roman Polansky) Madonna threatening to blow up the White House, and Rosie O'Donnell were a continuity.  To be clear, I was no fan of Hilary,.. However this anti-Trump stuff was well,.. demonic!  Why was there a double standard?  I started listening to Joe Rogan's podcast,.. More people speaking about 'pizza gate,' and a deep state.  Russia, etc...

We are a year into Trump's inauguration, and while yes he still remains a blowhard, I found it interesting that the media never reported other things.  The US economy is stronger than ever.  Granted the 'left' says its not because of Trump, however it is still happening under his presidency.  The illegal immigration issue.  Well my Grandfather was in a POW camp in Petawawa during war times,.So you ain't gonna get sympathy from me.  I remember arguing that Trump was being 'unChristian,' and the rebuttal the individual gave me was the media never uses the word 'illegal.'  I countered with, but we are a country (Canada) built on the backs of immigrants along with the french and english,.. 'Dude, do you lock the doors to your house at night? was his reply... Eeesh...Then I found out that Obama pretty much did the same moratorium a few years back.

A few questions,...

The whole Russia collusion.  Did Russia interfere?  Probably.  Doesn't every country's intelligence community attempt to meddle?  Didn't the Obama administration meddle in Israel's?  Then wasn't it Clinton who sold uranium to the Russians?  Comey and Mueller,..Are they not in collusion?  Is their a fake Russian dossier ordered by John McCain?  Eeeesh,...The plot thickens,..

Up next is the METOO movement.  It seems that Hollywood is ripe with sexual abuse of women and minors.  Yet the media hasn't spent much time questioning why Bill Clinton was on Jeffrey Epstein plane to his island.  All these women coming forward,.. The left takes advantage, but even this seems to fizzle out.

Trump's sh%^hole comments,.. or alleged comments.  Apparently its hearsay.  If he did say it, he does expose himself as an ass, no question.  However name one person who hasn't spoken like this in private?  Does this comment rank in the same league as Slick Willy's bl%&job from Monica Lewinsky along with him lying under oath?  The media at the time stated that it had nothing to do with his capacity to run the country.  Fine.  Then comments that were allegedly said don't either, right?  Even Oprah, (who recently gave an election style speech) what about her comments regarding a generation 'needing to die.'  Ouffff...

My point in all of this is that I enjoy playing 'devil's advocate' especially in the face of a force-fed global narrative.  Trying to read, reread and balance everything from all sources.  A year ago, the news of the Christian bakery refusing to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple made headlines,.. So Steven Crowder decided to go into muslim bakeries asking for a wedding cake for a gay couple,.. Well he also got refused.  Its the Christians however who are the new targets!

For my fellow Catholics,.. I leave you with this video of Trump,.. watch for yourself, then decide.

**To the liberals who think I'm now a conservative,. just remember that I too was against the Iraq invasion and thought Julian Assange did right by exposing a false war,.. The difference is that I still think he is doing right by exposing another false narrative.**

God bless!

Lent is co,.. HERE!!!

Lent is coming, (Actually is here!)and well the time for true Spiritual bootcamp is now upon us.  How to prepare?  Perhaps this Lent, we can kick it a little ‘old school’ and meditate the reality of death, judgement, Heaven and hell.  Yup.  That is a pretty clear directive.  Jesus comes as merciful Saviour but He will return as Just Judge.  Have we as a society and a Church forgotten that reality?  I would tend to think so.  The truth is that ‘Lent’ can be and should be our Spiritual ‘spring cleaning.’

Perhaps we (I include myself) don’t meditate upon the Four Last things enough.  The reasons can range to ‘its ‘pre-conciliar’ all the way to ‘it will scare people.’  Again though this is time when we need to actualize and realize our own Spiritual pilgrimage, we sometimes can waste this season and reduce it to the temporal order.  ‘For Lent, I will try to recycle…’  Well, okay, but are we really entering into a vertical relationship with God?  The issue for Lent remains death, judgement, Heaven and hell period.  All the rest is temporal window dressing.  The Church has consistently given Lenten missions, however in the last 70yrs or so, these missions have turned into a temporal social justice (actually Marxist because actual social justice is a Christian virtue) propaganda affair.  Our Church indeed does have a responsibility toward the poor, and that responsibility remains getting them to Heaven!

The Church too often is seen as just another humanitarian organization.  The reality is otherwise!  The Church is established so that the Holy Mass make take place in Her gatherings to offer worship, praise along with reparation for sin to God the Father through Jesus, the Son.  The Mass remains the unbloody Sacrifice of the Son to the Father.  All the community activities, social programs and whatnot must flow from that reality.

Let’s make Lent 2017 count!  Let’s do and sacrifice stuff we could never imagine.  Let’s pray and enter Spiritual bootcamp, in preparation for Easter!  May God bless us all as we enter this most precious time of Grace!

Notre Dame/Our Lady,.

We have all heard this hymn 'Ave Maria', a beautiful one indeed, addressed to Our Blessed Mother, the first Christian, the first disciple who points the way to Christ.  Through Her intercession Jesus performed His first miracle, and stood beside Him at the foot of the Cross.  In fact She should be our source of unity among the separated brethren, yet to protestants,.(especially the 'fun' ones,..y'know the rabid anti-Catholic, 'I don't believe in dinosaurs crowd,..) She becomes tantamount to idol worship, and the above mentioned beautiful hymn, sounds like a wiccan incantation towards Gaia.

Now,.Do we post about how we as Catholics do not worship Mary for the 165 357 999th time?  I would love to think that within the ecumenical arena, that we would be able to move past this issue. Guess that's not the case.  First off, to my sincerely misguided Bible believing protestant brethren,..WE DO NOT WORSHIP MARY!!!!!!!  (165 358 000 time)  We honour Mary as Our Mother,.the same way we honour our own mothers,..its that simple.  Notice how I didn't have to go into Latria (Worship) as opposed to dulia?  (Honour)  I can however use the Bible to show the Marian doctrines,..albeit implicitly,..then again there are also other implicit doctrines,..one of them being the Trinity!...We can begin with Genesis 3:15, (protoevangelium) continue on to Is 7:14, next up we go to Luke 1: 28,..(the Greek here says, Kecharitomene or 'Full of Grace'.... O Protestant,..do explain how Mary is 'full of Grace' (Her title by the way,..angels are messengers from God..) if the Cross hasn't happened yet?  Btw, its NOT 'highly favoured.'  But nice try though!)  Shall I continue?,..Luke 1:48 (All generations will call me Blessed,..) ..We also have Her only command in John 2: 5,..  More??  Sure!  We have John 19: 26-27,.Woman, behold your son,..(The 'Woman' is used throughout John as a title for the Blessed Mother, the new Eve..It is not used in a derogatory sense, because Jesus, being a good Jewish boy wouldn't disobey the fourth commandment.) Aaaaaaaaand here is a good one, Revelation (Apocalypse) 12,..read the entire thing,..see if you can now draw the parallel from Genesis 3:15! ,..

Aside from that we also have the Testimony of the Church Fathers, and well, they were the original Bible commentators,.cause well,..some of them wrote and helped canonize the New Testament!  So 'Theotokos', we have St Cyril of Alexandria, St Ireneaus and St John of Damascus to name a few.  For the 'Immaculate Conception' we have St Ephreim, and we have St Augustine!!!  On a side note, we also have your founders,.Luther and Calvin!  Both had great devotion to the Blessed Mother!  As far as intercessary prayers go?  The Old Testament Psalms 103 and 148 come to mind whereby the angels are invoked.  We invoke the saints to pray with us,..not to communicate and bend them to our will, that is forbidden.  In the New Testament, through Christ, we read that we are all members of the Church and death does not separate us.  This was also recognized by the Early Church Fathers, particularly Clement of Alexandria and Cyprian of Carthage.

To conclude this little apologetic on Mary and the Saints,. I would encourage all those seeking Truth with a sincere heart to open yourselves up to the teachings of the early Church Fathers.  If a verse comes down to interpretation, definetly consult those, who in many cases knew the Apostles personally,..or you can continue to quote the Rev. Cletus Archibald Lovejoy III from the 1st reformed pentecostal baptist church in the Ozark mountains, with his 19 PHDs (from non accredited schools.)

'Douchebags' and the Blessed Mother

This post is long overdue!  Maybe it will be a little offensive but I could care less.  I am speaking about how you guys wear the Rosary around your neck as a fashion statement. Disclaimer:  I am not speaking about people who wear their Rosary beads as sacramentals and pray using them.  I am speaking about the growing phenomenon of 'douchebag-itis..' that is sweeping Montreal and probably the rest of the western world.

So let's describe this type of person, clearly not an individual because they usually travel in groups of three, and all look like they came out of a photocopier machine.  Mid twenties and tattooed from head to toe.  I'm not speaking of one or two tattoos on your body, but the full out 'tribal' images running right up the neck.  This look is accentuated with 'Affliction' t-shirt, baseball hat, (where the bill is completely straight), jean shorts, or 'jorts' and finally the piece de resistance,..the Rosary hanging aroung their neck.  As for body type, they come in two forms, no muscle tone and full out steroid.  Usually the breed of human is found in or around  a gym, will attempt a 20min workout, buy a protein shake with everything in it.  The two body forms cycle themselves, as  two guys (out of three) will be jacked to the gills with a water retention weight of a pregnant woman while the small guy will have that 'after the cycle' look whereby everything is soft and saggy...(As he awaits his turn on the sauce...)  They are usually rabid MMA fans despite the fact that none of them are really trained and usually end up getting their a#$es handed to them when they try a sparring session.  Weekly at Gracie Barra, this type of person shows up and gets strangled, however if he hangs around more than a week, he begins to alter his image and starts cleaning up his act.

To conclude, I guess I'm getting old, as the previous generation probably complained about the hip hop style, pants down around the knees,.etc...To be clear, the style would not offend me if not for the Rosary.  Prayer is such a beautiful powerful weapon.  It is where we praise God and thank Him for being Alive!  In contemplating the mysteries of the Rosary we are fully living the Gospel meditating upon Christ's life with the Blessed Mother. Please guys,..you don't see GSP wearing a Rosary around his neck, and if he did, I KNOW he uses it.

Optimus Video blog,...

Trying to get a little more familiar with video blogging as our parish is contemplating more of a social media approach.  Holy Father Benedict XVI has issued the call to the new evangelization and of course this is a great avenue to reach more people and more souls.  God Bless!

The Apex of Catholic Awesomeness

Well its official!!!!  Last Saturday night, Fr Tom Dowd was officially installed as auxiliary Bishop of Montreal along with Bishop Christian Lepine.  Since then I've been feeling like that scene from 'Goodfellas' when Jimmy Conway tells Henry Hill about Tommy getting made was like all of us getting made.  (Of course in the movie,..Tommy gets killed because of the Billy Batz thing..) Nevertheless,.I digress,.but am very happy for Bishop Dowd.  Can you smell it?,..The wind of change is upon us and solid men, guys who were inspired by John Paul II's invitation to discern Christ's will for their lives are now beginning to take their place in the Church hierarchy.  Fr Donald Calloway MIC remarked that Our Lady's Blue army is on the way,.and if there is one thing that these men have in common,..is that they are all orthodox!!!

So a shout out to Bishop Tom,..your a Bishop now, and thus in charge of shepherding souls home to Heaven.  There is a lot of work to be done,..no doubt about it, but with God's grace you'll do fine.  Montreal with God's help will once again return to her Catholic roots,.or 'Ville Marie' as she was known...

Nuts, Bolts and a New Bishop in the Wings!

Okay,..so at times the Optimusmastro email account gets loaded with many unusual questions, that once again call for 'Confessions' to publically answer the Optimusmailbag!  The topics,..though not only religious, reflect in a very healthy way what my interests are and truly capture the essence of who I am.  Throughout the existence of this blog, I have made no bones about articulating my positions whether they be pro-life, traditional Catholic or socially conservative, but also at the same time, reminding people that I'm a dude too!  I burp, I fart, and can have some opinions and interests on what some people would consider very immature subjects!  So without further delay let's dip into the Optimusmailbag, have some fun and answer some questions!  (Everything of course will be paraphrased, and the 'sender's' name will not be revealed...')

Ques:  Hey Marco,..What's the deal with the anti-Vatican II sentiment on your blog!  My priest says that it must be our model for the future Church!

Ans:  First off, there is absolutely no anti-VII sentiment on my blog!  What I do question is the so-called heterodox interpretation of the Gospel, as put forward by the so-called 'social justice' crowd.  Vatican II did not make any infallible pronouncements and in essence concluded the work of VI.  Sadly, however people within the Church use and interpret VII as sort of new beginning, whereby the Holy Spirit intended to create a whole new Church.  The same Holy Spirit who convened the Council, is also the same Holy Spirit who chooses the Pope.  Last I heard, we are seeing the return of the Tridentine Mass and a general restoration of orthodoxy, so I guess that means that VII was and is to be interpreted within the light of Tradition and not some flaky open ended marxist propaganda blueprint for a social organization which only bears the name 'catholic.'  (Sorry Fr Hans...)

Ques:  What do you think of Medjugorge apparations?

Ans:  The Church still has not sanctioned the Apparitions and therefore being in obediance to the Magisterium requires that we do not accept as worthy of belief just yet,.what the supposed apparitions messages are saying.  The local Bishop seems to be against them, then again, the Church also initially went Fatima.  Irregardless of whether or not the messages are legit, the deposit of Divine Revelation is closed.  We have all we need, and all these messages can only serve as reminders of Revelations we already have.  Being 'worthy of belief' does not necessarily mean we have to accept it.

Ques:  Who would win in a fight between a Kung Fu guy and an MMA guy?

Ans:  The guy with the overall better fighting skill level period.  Whether or not your trained in Shaolin Kung Fu, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai or Arabian belly dancing, your individual skill level will no doubt play a role.  On the other hand, a few posts back, I noted a difference between what would be a martial art and what would be a sport.  That said,.a guy with serious training in Shaolin Chin Na going into the Octogon would pose a serious problem for the MMA guy with respect to his joints, pressure points and muscle tissue fighting.  For this reason, it would be highly unlikely that a traditional Kung Fu guy would be able to use everything in his arsenal against the MMA guy.  The stand-up style Kung Fu in the Octogon used by guys like Frank Shamrock or Pat Militich has been adapted (edited..) to more of a sports oriented approach based on a point system.  Youtube shows a clip which is honestly quite laughable whereby a 'Gracie' Jiu Jitsu practitioner fights a so-called Kung Fu 'expert' and is easily defeats him by going to the ground, thereby exposing the one dimensionalism of Kung Fu...It's a cute video, unfortunately what if the Kung Fu guy closed a vain, or stuck a thumb in the eye of the Gracie grappler?   We'll never know...

Ques:  Why do you put so much emphasis on philosophy?  (from a protestant)

Ans:  Simply put, the Faith is rational.  Look up the Gospel of John,..its loaded with greek philosophy.  Truth is truth, plain and simple.  Where philosophy leaves off, Theology takes off and we can arrive 'a posteriori' at the truths God wishes to have us know about Him whose nature is Love.   To acknowlege the Bible is to acknowledge the Church which discerned Her books! (cause and effect)  God Bless!!

To conclude,..I want to give a shout out to Father Thomas Dowd,..(the monster responsible for me!!  Yes, he's the dude from the diocesan book room who more or less brought me back to the Faith)  Fr Tom is going to be consecrated as a Bishop this coming September!  How cool is that?  His blog, Waiting in Joyful Hope  is the first blog by a Canadian Roman Catholic priest! Please keep him in your prayers...

St Jean Vianney,...ora pro nobis!
